Sitting Is Killing You.. Slowly But Surly Sitting down may not seem detrimental at first glance, but take a deeper look and you will find some difficult facts to swallow. Because of the many health issues sitting for too long will lead to, standing desks are becoming more and more popular at the home and office environment. Have you considered a standing desk you?

When in a seated position , without realizing it, the hip flexor muscles begin to shorten and becoming incredibly tight. Allowing the hip flexor muscles to shorten leaves the door wide open for the position of pelvis to tilt forward, this is called and anterior pelvic tilt. This usually causes an excessive arch in the lower back which adds unnecessary pressure and pain.

Adding a standing desk into the work day will have a much greater affect on the body. It could increase blood circulation, flexibility, and energy, and  decrease the development of posture issues, lower back pain, and low energy. Studies have shown that sitting for long periods of time will increase chances of death by up to 40%.

    Thank you for your sharing. We always think about sitting with a good posture when using computers but we never think about standing with good posture when using computers can be beneficial to our health. I will definitely try the awesome standing desk.
